Product Overview

This vertical filler combines gear-pump dispensing with manual container handling. An external product hose connects the machine to a separate supply vessel, avoiding the need to transfer each batch into a machine-mounted hopper.

For hair care and body-wash packaging, the machine provides an operator-assisted filling station for compatible formulations. Creams, lotions, gels, honey and syrup can also be assessed around their actual flow behavior and product-contact requirements.

The filling range is 5–5000 mL, with an accuracy specification of ±0.5%. The rated production range is 10–30 bottles per minute; quantity, product consistency and manual container exchange influence the working pace.

Operators can initiate individual fills through the pedal or use timed repeat operation. In both modes, bottles and jars are positioned and removed manually. The machine has no conveyor.

PLC and HMI controls provide the supplied operating interface. A pneumatic shut-off nozzle controls product cut-off, while the compact SUS304 frame sits on casters for planned positioning. The machine’s role is dispensing; product preparation, heating, mixing and closure application are separate duties.

Machine Configuration

The vertical frame supports a single gear-pump filling circuit, an external product-feed connection and a pneumatic shut-off nozzle. Product is drawn from a separate supply container rather than a machine-mounted hopper.

Foot-pedal initiation and timed repeat operation provide two operating modes. Operators place and remove every container at the filling position; no conveyor is fitted.

PLC and HMI controls manage the supplied dispensing settings and repeat interval. AirTAC pneumatic components and cylinder support nozzle actuation. PLC, HMI and electrical brands follow the ordered configuration.

SUS316L stainless steel wetted components form part of the liquid pathway. The SUS304 frame is caster-mounted, with a listed footprint of 700 × 600 mm.

The equipment is supplied without hopper heating, agitation or an automatic replenishment pump. The external product source is arranged around the formulation and approved feeding conditions.

Working Principle

The product hose connects the filler to a separate supply container. The feeding arrangement is prepared for the actual formulation, with the inlet kept in a suitable position throughout operation.

The gear-pump circuit is primed according to its operating instructions. Operators set the target quantity and establish the nozzle and container position before production.

In pedal mode, the operator places a bottle or jar beneath the nozzle and initiates the fill. The gear pump delivers product through the dispensing circuit, and the pneumatic shut-off nozzle closes at the end of the cycle.

In timed repeat mode, the machine repeats dispensing with the selected interval between fills. The operator exchanges containers within that working rhythm. Filling quantity and the repeat interval are separate settings.

Containers remain manually handled in both modes. Filled packages are removed and transferred to the required closure or collection arrangement.

PLC and HMI controls manage the supplied functions. During production, the operator monitors product availability, filled quantity and the condition of the container opening.

A change in formulation or package requires the corresponding cleaning and setup checks. The external supply, hose, gear pump and nozzle are reviewed together before the machine returns to routine operation.

🔧 Common Problems

Possible operating symptoms include variation in filled quantity, intermittent product flow, visible air in the supply hose or liquid trailing after nozzle closure. Operators may notice difficulty maintaining a steady product supply as the source container empties, residue around the container opening or differences after a formulation change. Manual handling observations may include difficulty positioning a container consistently or keeping pace with timed repeat operation. Other symptoms include an irregular nozzle response, audible pneumatic leakage, repeated HMI messages or unexpected interruptions in dispensing. During cleaning and changeover, product, color or fragrance may remain in the hose, pump or nozzle. Record the formulation, quantity, operating mode, supply arrangement and affected stage when investigating an observation.

Technical Buyer's Handbook & Deep Insight

Where the Semi-Automatic Vertical Gear Pump Filler Fits

This model suits operator-assisted filling where containers are presented individually and product can be supplied from a separate vessel. Its distinctive combination is direct suction, one gear-pump circuit, pedal or timed repeat operation and a compact mobile frame.

It is a different equipment choice from a conveyor-based automatic filler. The operator remains responsible for positioning and removing each container, so the production assessment should include the complete manual task.

The machine has no hopper, heating or agitation system. Product preparation and conditioning are arranged separately.

Plan the External Product Supply

The source container, hose and pump inlet form part of the operating setup. Review the product’s ability to reach the pump consistently rather than selecting the filler from viscosity description alone.

Keep the inlet suitably positioned as the supply level changes. Source-container exchanges and product recovery should also be included in the working method.

The pump selection guide for process manufacturing provides related feeding considerations. The installed pump instructions establish the permitted startup and running conditions.

Do not assume a universal suction lift or hose length. The approved feed arrangement should follow the actual formulation and installation.

Choose Pedal or Timed Repeat Operation

Pedal mode allows the operator to initiate each fill after positioning the container. It can suit work where package presentation varies or the operator needs to control the pace individually.

Timed repeat mode provides a regular interval between dispensing cycles. It suits a working arrangement in which the operator can exchange containers consistently within the selected interval.

The two modes share the same manual handling responsibility. Timed repetition does not provide automatic bottle positioning, presence detection or conveyor transfer.

Set the interval around the approved operator sequence rather than choosing the shortest available delay.

Assess the Full 5–5000 mL Requirement

The filling range spans very different package sizes. Define the quantities used routinely and identify the important bottle and jar formats before preparing the final setup.

A small container may need different nozzle access and positioning from a larger package. Quantity adjustment alone does not establish that the same physical arrangement suits both.

Use representative packages during evaluation. Check access to the opening, the filled appearance and the practicality of manual removal after dispensing.

The production rate should be assessed at the required quantity rather than assumed from the machine’s overall range.

Match Creams, Gels and Other Products to the Feed Pathway

Cream, shampoo and honey are broad application descriptions. Their actual flow behavior can change with formulation and temperature.

Review the complete product pathway, including the hose, pump, seals, connections and nozzle. Materials that settle, form strings or change consistency during holding deserve particular attention during the trial.

Where the formulation needs temperature control or mixing before filling, the heating and mixing filling guide provides supporting context. Those functions belong to separate equipment for this model.

Do not rely on the filler to restore a product that has moved outside its intended filling condition.

Compare with the Automatic Single-Head Auto-Feeding Model

The automatic single-head servo gear-pump filler with auto feeding provides a different level of product supply and bottle handling.

Selection pointThis semi-automatic vertical fillerAutomatic auto-feeding model
Product supplyDirect suction from an external containerAutomatic replenishment into a 30 L hopper
Container handlingManual placement and removal, without a conveyorConveyor transport with selected infeed arrangement
Cycle initiationPedal or timed repeat operationCoordinated automatic filling sequence
Hopper conditioningNo hopper heating or agitationHeating and agitation available as options

Compare the machines by the manual work and equipment scope needed for the project. Both having one filling head does not make their operating arrangements equivalent.

Compare with a Multi-Head Filling Arrangement

The six-head automatic gear-pump filler provides another direction where the production task calls for several filling positions and connected container handling.

This compact vertical unit focuses on a single operator-presented filling position. Its suitability may depend more on product variety, available space and the manual workflow than on nominal output alone.

Evaluate both against the same formulation and packaging schedule. More heads should not substitute for checking feed suitability, cleaning requirements and the actual handling task.

Define Filling Acceptance with the Actual Product

The accuracy specification is ±0.5%. Establish the target quantity, measurement basis and representative operating conditions before comparing results.

The filling accuracy testing guide provides related measurement considerations.

Check repeated fills and observe the product supply during the run. Air entry, changing source conditions or nozzle deposits can affect the usefulness of a trial.

Quantity consistency and clean cut-off are separate observations. Include the condition of the bottle or jar opening in the review, especially where residue could interfere with closure.

Include Changeover Across the Whole Circuit

Cleaning needs to cover the external hose, gear-pump circuit, connections and shut-off nozzle. Removing the source container does not empty or clean every part of the pathway.

Identify which components are detachable and which require an approved cleaning route. The cleaning-access guide for process equipment provides supporting inspection considerations.

For several formulations, include product recovery, cleaning, reassembly and filling checks in the production schedule. A single dispensing circuit can simplify the scope of that review without establishing a universal changeover time.

Arrange Closure as a Separate Task

Filled containers are removed manually and transferred to the required closing operation. Select the closure equipment around the bottle neck, cap and intended finished package.

The servo four-wheel screw capper provides one equipment direction for compatible threaded closures. Its feeding and transfer requirements need their own review.

Do not describe a separate capper as automatically integrated with this filler. The actual packaging arrangement must account for the manual transfer between tasks.

Evaluate the Complete Operator Workstation

The machine occupies a listed 700 × 600 mm footprint, but the working area also needs room for the product source, empty containers and completed packages.

Position these items to support a consistent loading and removal sequence. The pedal and repeat interval should serve that workflow rather than encourage rushed container exchange.

Include labor, source changes, cleaning and service parts when comparing cost. The machinery total cost of ownership guide provides a broader framework.

Prepare the Purchase Specification

  • Identify the actual cream, lotion, gel or liquid formulation.
  • Define routine quantities within the 5–5000 mL range.
  • Provide representative bottles and jars.
  • Describe the external source container and product-feed arrangement.
  • Select pedal or timed repeat operation for the working task.
  • Agree nozzle positioning and container access.
  • Define accuracy and sustained-output acceptance conditions.
  • Plan cleaning and manual transfer to closure equipment.
  • Confirm utilities and the selected PLC and HMI configuration.

StriversMachinery manufactures core processing equipment in-house and works with long-term partner manufacturers for complementary equipment. The filling setup is selected around the actual formulation, package and operator workflow.
