Product Overview

This system provides a production platform for formulations requiring several coordinated stages: phase preparation, ingredient incorporation, thermal processing, high-shear mixing and vacuum treatment. Its external circuit carries material from the bottom homogenizer back into the main vessel, while the gate agitator and PTFE scrapers maintain bulk movement within the tank.

The homogenizer itself provides the conveying action for the circulation route. A separate circulation pump can be specified where the product and circuit require additional transfer capability. Pump selection should follow the actual viscosity, pipework resistance and required operating conditions.

Integrated oil and water preparation pots support separate phase preparation. Siemens PLC and HMI controls provide the specified control platform; the delivered automatic sequences and operator tasks should be documented in the agreed functional schedule.

Typical applications include compatible cosmetic creams, lotions and shampoo formulations. For toothpaste and oral care production, confirm viscosity, solids behavior and circulation performance using representative material rather than assuming every paste is suitable.

The fixed top head and platform access define this model’s operating layout. It is intended for manufacturers who can accommodate a stationary production installation and need the combined vessel, auxiliary-pot and circulation arrangement.

Machine Configuration

The main vessel combines a jacketed, insulated structure with gate agitation, fixed paddles and PTFE wall scraping. A bottom-entry rotor-stator homogenizer processes material entering its working zone and provides conveying action through the external return circuit.

The circulation pipework returns product to the main tank. An additional circulation pump is optional and should be selected against the complete circuit duty. Integrated oil and water pots provide separate preparation capacity without changing the main vessel’s working-volume limit.

The fixed elliptical top head carries the specified charging, inspection, vacuum and cleaning connections. The vacuum system supports the agreed processing stages, while the jacket connects to the selected heating and cooling arrangement.

Siemens PLC and HMI controls coordinate the supplied functions through the agreed control program. Bottom-valve discharge, optional pump transfer and optional pressure assistance require separately defined operating arrangements. The platform, guardrails and ladder provide the specified access structure.

Working Principle

Production begins with ingredient preparation according to the approved formulation. Where required, oil and water phases are prepared in their respective auxiliary pots before entering the main vessel. Other ingredients may enter through the designated charging points at the appropriate stage.

The gate agitator moves the bulk batch, while PTFE scrapers act along the vessel wall. The jacket supplies the selected heating or cooling duty. These functions establish the product conditions needed for ingredient incorporation and homogenization.

Material entering the bottom rotor-stator homogenizer experiences localized high shear. The homogenizer also provides conveying action, moving material into the external circulation pipework and back to the main vessel. An additional circulation pump may be incorporated where the approved circuit requires it.

Agitation and circulation work together, but homogenizer rpm does not establish circulation flow or the number of batch passes. Product viscosity, working-head geometry, pipework and valve positions influence the actual circuit behavior.

Vacuum is applied at the stages defined by the process. Heating, mixing, homogenization and circulation settings follow the agreed PLC program and operator instructions. The exact automatic sequence depends on the supplied control functions.

After the batch meets its agreed checks, finishing additions and cooling proceed as required by the formulation. Product leaves through the bottom valve or the selected transfer arrangement. Pressure-assisted discharge is only used within the separately confirmed product-vessel pressure limits and approved procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

This configuration has a confirmed external return circuit: material passes through the bottom homogenizer, enters external pipework and returns to the main tank. It also uses Siemens PLC and HMI controls. Compare the actual circuit and control functions rather than treating external circulation as an automatic guarantee of shorter processing or better product quality.
Not necessarily. The confirmed arrangement uses the homogenizer itself to provide conveying action. A separate circulation pump can be added where the product, pipework resistance or required duty calls for it. The final selection should identify the operating conditions and demonstrate suitable circulation with representative material.
The working capacity is 1000L; 1200L is the total main-vessel capacity. The listed minimum batch is 300L. Do not use the total vessel volume as a routine production allowance. Also account for sampling, retained material and transfer losses when estimating the quantity available for packaging.

Installation Requirements

Use the final installation drawing to plan the complete assembly. The supplied dimensions are 4180 × 4080 × 3020 mm. Allow additional space for platform access, ingredient charging, auxiliary-pot operation, external-loop service, discharge and maintenance. The fixed head does not require a hydraulic lifting envelope, but overhead component-removal clearance still needs review.

The listed machine weight is 3500 kg. Assess floor support using the complete operating loads, including product in the main vessel and auxiliary pots. Calculate material mass from the actual densities rather than treating every liter as one kilogram.

Confirm the electrical supply against the final motor, heater, VFD and control-panel schedule. The listed total power is 28 kW; cable sizing, protection and earthing require qualified electrical design.

Provide the selected heating and cooling services with defined supply conditions. Optional steam, chilled water or glycol arrangements require project-specific utility specifications. Confirm any vacuum-pump and mechanical-seal support services from the supplied component documentation.

The specified compressed-air supply is 0.4–0.8 MPa. Confirm required air quality, consumption and regulation for the actual pneumatic functions. This supply pressure is not the permitted main-vessel pressure.

Provide cleaning-water access, drainage and maintenance access to the external circuit. Include any separately supplied circulation pump, chiller or cleaning unit in the layout and utility schedule.

Who the 1000L PLC External Circulation Emulsifying Mixer Suits

This model is intended for manufacturers whose production method benefits from a defined external circulation route alongside bulk agitation, thermal processing and vacuum treatment. Its position within the 1000L range is determined by the complete processing arrangement rather than capacity alone.

Consider it when the factory can prepare substantial batches, operate the auxiliary pots and accommodate the fixed-head installation. The relevant purchase question is whether the circulation circuit and control program support the required formulation stages.

For a manufacturer running several products, identify the demanding duty first. A flowable shampoo and a structured cosmetic cream may require different circulation settings, ingredient sequences and acceptance checks even when their batch volumes match.

Compare the Two 1000L Fixed-Head Configurations

The 1000L fixed vacuum emulsifying mixer with button control is a specific adjacent model to compare. The supplied specifications identify several shared capacity and drive values, but the external return circuit and Siemens control platform distinguish this configuration.

These are configuration differences, not comparative trial results. They do not establish that external circulation will improve every formulation or that the two models have equivalent processing times.

Define the External Circuit Before Estimating Treatment

Obtain a drawing showing the bottom homogenizer, external pipework, return connection, valves and any optional pump. Identify the operating routes for processing, discharge and cleaning.

The homogenizer provides conveying action in the confirmed arrangement. However, available circulation depends on the installed working head, product viscosity and circuit resistance. The 15 kW rating does not establish a circulation flow rate.

Do not estimate batch passes from the 0–3000 rpm speed range. If pass count is important to the process, agree how flow and exposure will be assessed. Otherwise, use an appropriate product endpoint and documented operating conditions.

Also review the circuit’s retained material and emptying method. A return loop adds product-contact volume that must be considered during sampling, recovery and changeover.

Decide Whether a Separate Circulation Pump Is Necessary

An optional pump should address an identified duty rather than be added simply because an external loop exists. Review the product at its most demanding processing condition, including any viscosity increase during cooling or ingredient addition.

Assess the circuit length, elevation, valve arrangement and required flow behavior. If the homogenizer-driven arrangement is suitable, an additional pump may be unnecessary. If a pump is proposed, define its operating relationship with the homogenizer and the controls that prevent unsuitable conditions.

The wider fluid transfer systems range can support this discussion, but a discharge pump and a circulation pump should not be assumed to serve the same duty.

Validate Both 300L and 1000L Operation Where Required

The specified range starts at a 300L minimum batch and extends to the 1000L working capacity. If both ends are commercially important, include them in the application assessment.

At the lower volume, check product coverage around the homogenizer, effective agitator engagement and the behavior of material returning through the external loop. At the larger volume, assess bulk turnover and product consistency across the agreed sampling locations.

The 1200L total capacity is not an extra production allowance. Maintain the approved working limits and account for additions, surface movement and product-specific foaming.

Map Phase Preparation to the Auxiliary Pots

The 500L oil pot and 800L water pot provide separate preparation vessels. Their listed capacities do not determine the proportions of every recipe and should not be summed to calculate the main batch.

For each important formulation, identify which ingredients enter the auxiliary pots, which enter the main vessel directly and which are added during finishing. Confirm the actual preparation and transfer functions of each pot.

Temperature-sensitive additions require their own process limits. The guide to fragrance and active-ingredient addition during cosmetic manufacturing provides further context for planning these stages.

Assess Toothpaste and Structured Creams Beyond the Product Name

The supplied maximum processing viscosity is 50,000 cP. That figure needs a stated temperature and measurement method before it can support selection, particularly for products whose viscosity changes during processing.

For toothpaste, review solids loading, abrasive ingredients, circulation and the required texture. For structured creams, assess whether bulk movement remains effective as the formulation develops. A return circuit cannot compensate for inadequate movement elsewhere in the vessel.

Where production development is still underway, the 5L laboratory circulation vacuum emulsifier is a specific smaller system to evaluate for development work. Laboratory rpm and processing time should not be copied directly to this production vessel as a validated scale-up method.

Specify the Automatic Process Functions

Siemens PLC and HMI are confirmed, together with the fully automatic classification. Translate that classification into a function schedule identifying what the delivered program actually controls.

Define stage transitions, operator confirmations, available setpoints, fault responses and the permitted relationships between agitation, homogenization, circulation and vacuum. Identify which ingredient additions remain manual.

If saved recipes, electronic records, automatic dosing or factory-network communication are required, specify them explicitly. A Siemens touchscreen identifies the control platform, not the complete software scope.

Coordinate Thermal Processing with Vacuum and Circulation

The jacket supports the selected heating and cooling arrangement. Compare steam and electric heating for vacuum emulsifying mixers against the plant utilities and actual thermal duty.

The listed ±1°C control accuracy should be tied to a defined measurement point and acceptance condition. It is not automatically a guarantee of uniform temperature throughout every product.

Vacuum treatment must also follow the formulation. Circulation, temperature and ingredient behavior influence the process, while retained air may require changes to charging or mixing. The related guide to air bubbles in cosmetic production provides additional troubleshooting context.

Include the External Loop in Cleaning and Inspection

The CIP spray ball is one provision within the vessel. It does not establish cleaning coverage through the homogenizer, return pipework, valves and auxiliary-pot connections.

Define the cleaning supply and return route, required valve positions, cleaning-agent compatibility and components receiving separate attention. Include the mechanical-seal arrangement where relevant to the manufacturer’s procedure.

The guide to CIP spray balls and complete cleaning systems explains why vessel spray provision should not be treated as a complete automated cleaning package.

For frequent product changes, inspect the actual circuit for retained material and access limitations. The guide to cleaning dead corners in process equipment can support that review.

Plan the Receiving Process Before Setting Batch Targets

A finished 1000L batch needs a defined destination. If the mixer feeds packaging directly, its availability may depend on the packaging schedule. A separate holding arrangement may release the mixer earlier, but adds handling, cleaning and product-hold considerations.

For compatible cream products, evaluate downstream cream filling machines using the product at its actual filling condition. Toothpaste and other tube-packed products require a separately matched packaging assessment.

Calculate production capacity from the complete batch route, including phase preparation, quality checks, discharge and changeover. The external circuit does not establish a particular number of batches per shift.

Evaluate the Complete Installation and Operating Cost

The fixed-head assembly requires access to the main vessel, auxiliary pots, platform and external pipework. Position valves and service points so the agreed operating and cleaning methods remain practical.

Review the installation within the wider cosmetic factory equipment and layout plan. Include optional circulation pumps, cleaning equipment and thermal utilities rather than planning only around the listed overall dimensions.

When comparing quotations, assess cleaning labor, retained product, pump maintenance, utilities and control requirements alongside purchase price. The total cost of ownership guide for cosmetic machinery provides a broader purchasing framework.
